Description
I was driving back from going for a hike up the mountain behind us and on the way back, I saw something soaring above an open field. At first, I thought it was an owl, I quickly stopped and got my camera out and when it flew by, I was able to zoom in on it. Turns out to be a Rough-legged Hawk! Watching it as it flew staying in place, against the wind, was truly impressive. I stayed sitting in my vehicle as I didn't want to spook it, and it actually flew right over me. It was hard to keep focus on it, as it was moving so fast and I was limited on my movement from having my camera out the window, but I actually got a photo of it looking right at my camera.
